Steph, where have you been?

So, we moved in the week of Labor Day, and even in that four-day week I worked almost 40 hours. What was I working on? Summit '19: Be the Difference.
This is what I do when I'm not laying carpet. I'm creating great material for clients, and making a big production of it.
Summit '19 was my seventh big event with Pet Supplies Plus, attended by almost 900 retail leaders and franchise owners for three days, featured two keynote addresses, three additional mainstage presentations and no less than 20 breakout sessions. I got to film and edit video, I wrote and edited content, and then I led a team that put it all together into this show of shows.
Since my first show with them in 2011, we've grown from 250 attendees to the extravaganza we have today. How did it grow? With great content. Franchise owners who used to be forced to attend the event would roll their eyes and resist. The answer to that lack of engagement was offering meaty content that helped owners make money in their stores. Now, they don't come alone. They bring all their store operators. HUGE WIN.
Content is king. Working with SMEs to develop it and make it jump off the page, the screen, the PowerPoint slide...that's what I love most about what I do.
Oh, and I love making fun videos. Here's the cutest darn doggie fashion show ever (featuring my pups Rosie and Ernie), in case you're interested in seeing a little of my work:
At any rate, work on the house has continued while I've been doing this, but it's mostly been on my husband's shoulders. We've managed to address a leaky roof, a leaky basement, leaky windows and old, worn out carpet in the last month. I'm starting to really love living here. More on that later.
This post is just a reminder that you can do two things at once - make a house a home, and dazzle a large audience for three days straight with great content that they can take all the way to the bank. Piece. Of. Cake.
